A Super Seven turn out at Beaulieu

On Saturday, 1st October 2022, over 100 Caterham and Lotus Sevens descended on Beaulieu's National Motor Museum for the first (of hopefully many) Caterham Cars gatherings. The event was an opportunity for both Caterham owners and club members to get together ahead of the winter season. Despite being a little later in the year, the typical British weather held off, and we enjoyed a day of glorious sunshine.

Supported by the Caterham & Lotus Seven Owners Club, the gathering featured a plethora of Sevens throughout the ages. Caterham’s CEO Bob Laishley was in attendance, getting to know Caterham owners – and indeed their cars.

We showcased our two newest models, the Super Seven 600 and Super Seven 2000, for the first time since Goodwood Revival. We also brought the track-focused Seven 420 CUP.  The club’s pop-up stand featured a 310R, 270S, 40th Anniversary Seven and a Super Seven 1600 kindly provided by Tim, Pete, Andy and Geoff.

As well as plenty of Sevens, visitors had access to all of Beaulieu's incredible exhibits. From dozens of Top Gear creations, legendary race cars, and one-off concepts to British classics and land-speed record cars, there really was something for everyone. There was even a special exhibit featuring the star cars from James Bond's latest outing (No Time To Die).

We’d like to thank everyone for making the event a great day out. Our team is working hard and will be working closely with the owners club, to create more events in 2023 – supporting the 50th-year celebrations of Caterham Cars.

"What a great day at Beaulieu - a fantastic opportunity to see over 100 Sevens. As they say - 'they are all the same but they are all different but I still think mine IS the best. Thanks for organising". Geoff M, Super Seven 1600, Aldershot.

"I attended with my 12-year-old daughter, and it was fantastic to see so many Caterham Sevens all together. I think we might have worn out the Caterham Cars simulator in our attempts to get the top lap time too! A fantastic day out at Beaulieu with some lovely autumn weather." Tim (& Ellie D), 310R, Cheddar.

"Brilliant turnout at Beaulieu. Great day, a great drive & great weather. Good to see everyone again." Matt A, Bristol.

"Great teamwork by Caterham Cars and the Club to put on such a successful event with over 100 Sevens and their owner enjoying the Autumn sunshine." Martin P, Roadsport 125, Caterham.

If you’re still looking for some Caterham action before the end of the year, this weekend sees the final round of our Motorsport Championships. While the 270R, 310R and CSCUK grids are heading to Spa-Francorchamps, the Academy and Roadsport racers will be back at Silverstone.  If you’d like to attend, tickets are available here: https://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/brscc-caterham-super-finale
