The German Design Awards are the premium prize of the German Design Council. With its global scope and international appeal, it is one of the most prestigious awards in the design landscape across all industries. The German Design Awards have been identifying key design trends, presenting them to a broad public and honouring them since 2012. For the 2025 Awards, an international jury made up of renowned design experts awarded Project V a winner for Excellent Product Design in Conceptual Transportation. The panel praised Project V for “its minimalist design philosophy, which creates a clear and elegant surface”. In addition, they added, “Caterham Project V impresses with its outstanding proportions and striking character.” Designed from the outset as an electric vehicle, Project V is the creation of chief designer, Anthony Jannarelly. His vision was brought to life by world-renowned Italian engineering firm Italdesign. The minimalist design philosophy means that Project V, just like the Caterham Seven, is light and simple. Commenting on the recent award, Jannarelly said, “Firstly, thank you to the jury and the German Design Awards for this acknowledgement. Our team are extremely honoured to be recognised as winners in the Excellent Product Design category. With Project V, we wanted to retain the distinctive Caterham DNA in this new concept. We applied a simple and minimalist design philosophy to the sports coupé architecture, with the objective of creating a seducing and timeless silhouette.
