Project V Debuts at Tokyo Auto Salon

On January 12 th 2024, Caterham’s Project V was publicly unveiled for the first time in Japan.

Following a brief media trip to Italy, Project V landed at the prestigious Tokyo Auto Salon to give international audiences the opportunity to get up close and personal with Caterham’s future.

The Tokyo Auto Salon takes place annually in January at the Makuhari Messe, Chiba City, Japan and is one of the world’s largest motor shows. As well as playing host to global manufacturers, it’s popularity has grown in the performance and custom aftermarket areas.

Project V was in good company too, joined by the new Seven 340 (in R spec of course). The 340R, which launched in Europe initially, is now available in Japan. Equipped with a 2.0 litre Ford Duratec engine tuned to 172 PS, the 340 picks up where the Seven 270 left – but with plenty of additional torque.

Hosted by the team from Caterham Cars Japan, the stand welcomed Caterham enthusiasts, owners and journalists across the four days. The show itself welcomed over 230,000 people across the four days – a new record high for the show.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited our team at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon. If you didn’t get the chance to see Project V, be sure to check out the gallery below.
