Largest Seven Blat: 2025 Taffia Fish and Chip Run

Last month, 254 Sevens gathered for pure driving joy through Wales’ scenic roads, with tasty fish and chips waiting at the finish line…what’s not to like!?

The annual Taffia Fish and Chip Run is a celebratory and community-driven event organised by the Caterham and Lotus Seven Club. Starting at Hanley Farm Shop in Chepstow and winding its way to the picturesque seaside resort of Aberdyfi, sunshine graced the 130-mile journey at the 21st edition of the event.

After concerns the 2024 event might be the last due to the original team stepping down, a new group of volunteers revived it with support from the club’s leadership, so we just had to check it out.

Participants came from across the UK and beyond, including Belgium, France, Germany, and even Canada (hiring a Seven from Caterham Williams), with many turning the trip into an extended holiday. From Friday night BBQs and bacon rolls at the start line, to mechanical mishaps, beachside fish and chips, and even a proposal, the event was full of character and camaraderie.

Importantly, the event raised over £6,000 for Prostate Cancer Research, continuing a strong charitable tradition. The event was not just about driving, but about stories, friendships, and a shared passion for Sevens – whether brand-new or nearly 40 years old.
