Ready for something a bit bonkers? The debut of the Caterham Grand Prix launches a two-hour strategy-fuelled showdown like nothing we've done before.
Snetterton’s 200 circuit hosts the action on Saturday 23 August. Email
Who is eligible?
Open to Roadsport, Seven 270R, and Seven 310R specification cars, the event welcomes both Caterham championship drivers and guest entrants from other series.
Here's the twist...
Each car must make three mandatory pit stops, with class-specific minimum stop times to level the playing field. Keep the car light with minimal refuelling, or refuel just once and pick the optimum space to rejoin? The decision is yours. Play it smart, and the live handicap should bring the lead cars from each class together for a nail-biting last-lap showdown.
Fly solo or bring a co-driver
Whether you tackle it as a team or are brave enough to go solo in the special HERO class, expect high-stakes, high-fun racing. And with a £1,000 charity prize in the mix, it’s game on.

FAQs
What’s the full format for the day?
15-minute qualifying at 09:25, followed by the two-hour Grand Prix at 11:55. The race will be a ROLLING START, like other endurance races, not a standing start.
That’s not much time to qualify, won’t both drivers need three laps?
Nope, it’s not, but grid position in a two-hour Caterham race is not going to be a priority! However, ensuring both drivers have three laps is (and the out-lap will count). Get three laps in for the first driver, then let the faster drive take the second part. Great practice for a driver swap.
Who can share a Roadsport specification car?
Anyone! It’s more than likely that one of you will be a Roadsport driver, but there is no requirement for the second driver to have limited experience. It’s the only GP that weekend as it’s in the summer break, so give Max a call as he seems to be up for anything at the moment…
What about team support in Roadsport cars?
As a non-championship round, this rule is relaxed; so whether you want to use friends, family or the full-blown power of Hendricks Motorsport’s NASCAR team to look after you, that’s okay - they aren’t going to make your total pitstop minutes countdown any more quickly…
What about regulations, such as weight when you have two drivers?
Cars will largely run to the regularly championship technical regulations with allowances made so we can accommodate cars from similar series. When sharing a car, the minimum weight will be calculated with an average weight between the two drivers.
And how will those pitstops work?
A little more detail on this will follow, but essentially, each class of car will be given a total minimum time for their pitstops (pitstops timed from pit-in to pit-out). The faster cars will have a longer total pitstop time. This will be calculated based on speed differences in qualifying to provide appropriate data for the conditions on the day. In addition, there will be a minimum pitstop time when a driver change or refuelling takes place (drivers must be out of the car for refuelling). A second person (eg driver) with a fire-extinguisher is required during refuelling.
What about if I don’t want to refuel or change driver on a pitstop?
As long as you come in, stop, and then go again; that’s good enough! But maybe you want to get away from the pack (or perhaps even join a pack for the tow), or a quick stop to take on a drink and check the tyre pressures, it’s up to you.
Is there a difference between one and two driver cars?
We will have a special HERO class trophy for those tough enough to tackle the race solo.
And the prize? Can this be split between charities?
It would not be a GP without an actual grand prix, which is a £1,000 donation to the winner’s charity of choice; so please do let us know which charity you are racing for. Or charities… If you want to split it between charities, that’s fine with us.
We hope you will join us for what promises to be an entertaining and exciting format, purely for a bit of summer fun in your cars. The Caterham Grand Prix forms part of the Citroen 2CV 24hr weekend, which will also see Round 7 of the 2025 Caterham Academy.
