HWM Caterham are delighted to offer for sale this stunning 3 owner from new Riviera Blue Superlight R400. The R400 is fitted with the 2.0L Duratec dry sump engine producing 210bhp. This is connected to a 6 speed gearbox and a limited slip differential. This example is based on the larger SV chassis maximising the cabin space and paired with the leather seats makes the interior quite spacious for a Caterham. The larger chassis doesn't only get you more interior space, you also have a larger fuel tank which allows you to carry 4 litres more fuel and also carry more luggage in the boot.
This Superlight has been well specified from factory, we do also have the original sales invoices and relating paperwork which shows how the car came from the factory which hasn't changed. The carbon fibre front wings really compliment the Riviera Blue paintwork, which is in fantastic condition for the age and mileage of the car. It does also come with the full weather gear, heater, battery master cut off, Quad piston calipers, uprated brake master cylinder and lots more. For full details on this car and funding options please call us on 01932 240 611.
HWM was first established in February 1938, Operating out of the same beautiful building since just after WW2. HWM is a private, family owned dealership. Whilst we enjoy a remarkable heritage, we have survived through being dynamic and innovative. We use the fact that we are relatively small to be nimble in decision making, constantly innovating and providing a level of service that only a small family business can deliver. Today, racing cars built in this country dominate almost every formula, but the first British team to find international success after WW2 is almost forgotten. It wasn’t BRM: the expensive and heavily hyped V16 was an abject failure. It wasn’t Connaught or Vanwall, though their day would come. And it wasn’t Cooper or Lotus, who would go on to win World Championships. In fact it was a shoestring effort from a little garage in Walton-on-Thames called Hersham and Walton Motors – HWM. Over HWM’s seven-year life as a racing car manufacturer less than two dozen were built, but some 70 per cent of the entire production survives today.
