Calling All CSR Owners

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Here at Caterham, the safety and welfare of our customers is of primary importance. Therefore, having received reports of an issue that may affect all CSR models from 2005 to 2023, it is important to us that we bring this to CSR owners’ attention as quickly as possible.

We have recently been made aware of some concerns with the rear suspension damper mounting bracket (‘clevis’), causing the spring/damper to become partially detached.

Mainstream road cars sometimes experience a similar issue in the form of a spring breakage and whilst unpleasant, it rarely causes a loss of control and the car can usually be limped home or to a garage for repair.

Whilst the same is true for a CSR, we are mindful that owners may well be using their cars on track or for more spirited road driving and especially given the responsive nature of any Seven’s handling, for an abundance of caution, we recommend that you temporarily suspend using your CSR and inspect the clevis using the instructions found in the link below:

If the inspection does not reveal any concerns, you may wish to continue using your CSR with regular checks.

In order to help Caterham and therefore the wider CSR community, please follow the below link to a short questionnaire requesting your ownership details, so that we may build a log of all current CSR owners and contact you as soon as a solution is available. The questionnaire also enables you to log a report of an issue should you have had one, or find one on inspection.  Please note, the form is also available in French and German translations and can be selected by using the drop-down menu in the top righthand corner.
